SMS terms
We text volunteers about shifts and distribution times. Nothing else. You can stop any time by replying STOP.
Last updated August 2026. These terms cover the Daily Fellowship of Bread Volunteer Alerts text message program, operated by Daily Bread Fellowship, a California nonprofit corporation publicly known as The Daily Fellowship of Bread, EIN 42-2931968. Messages are sent from (575) 223-1242.
What we send
If you give us a mobile number on our volunteer signup form and check the box consenting to texts, we will send you messages about volunteer shift scheduling and food distribution times. That is the whole program. In practice it looks like the day, time and address of the next distribution once it is set, a note that one has moved, or a short-notice ask when we are short-handed for a grocery pickup.
We do not send marketing, promotional offers, or donation requests by text, and we do not text the people who receive food from us.
How often
About 2 to 4 messages a month. It varies with how often you volunteer and how much food comes in that week.
What it costs
We don't charge anything for this. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your plan and carrier.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any message and we will stop. You can also email hello@dailybreadfellowship.org or tell your chapter coordinator, and we will stop within 10 business days. Stopping the texts does not remove you as a volunteer, we will just reach you by email instead.

Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed, so we don't use text messages for anything urgent or safety-critical.
Who can join
You must be 18 or older to give us a mobile number.
Your privacy
We do not share mobile phone numbers or text-message consent with any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes. Our privacy policy explains the rest.
Changes
If we update these terms, we'll revise the date above.
